FREE Screening and Panel Discussion of Unapologetic
The Center for Nonviolence People of Afrikan Descent Advisory Group, in partnership with the Center for Nonviolence Gender and Sexualities Advisory Group and Fort Wayne Cinema Center, invites you to join us Saturday, October 8th @ 2 pm, for a screening and panel discussion of the award-winning Ashley O’Shay documentary film Unapologetic.
The film follows Janae and Bella, queer femme activists in the Movement for Black Lives, whose upbringing and experiences shape their activism and views on Black liberation. Unapologetic captures a tense and polarizing moment in Janae and Bella’s activism as they fight for the lives of Chicago’s Black residents while seeking justice for the police killings of Rekia Boyd and Laquan McDonald.
Panelists include community activist and licensed therapist Mari Love, activists Daylana Saunders and Alisha Rauch, founders of ChangeMakers Fort Wayne, and poet, artist, and activist, Emmanuel Ortiz. This event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 1 pm with a 2 pm start time for the film. Be sure to ask for your free snack combo before the film! Food and drinks will be served during the panel discussion. For more information, send inquiries to info@centerfornv.org.
