Creating Culturally Affirming Support Groups at CFN

Ignite Liberation,

Embrace Joy,

Empower Change!

We invite you to join us in creating a truly unique and culturally affirming space at the Center for Nonviolence. As you know, the Center for Nonviolence already provides support groups for English and Spanish speakers. However, we have realized there are few to no services specifically for Black women and LGBTQ+ domestic violence survivors in Fort Wayne.

We knew that needed to change and that’s why last year, we reached out to you for your support. With thanks to our incredible donors and funders, we have been able to hire and train two Support & Advocacy facilitators specifically for Black women and LGBTQ+ survivors.

This is an incredible start, but we are not done!  Our goal is ambitious but attainable: we need $5,000 to make programs like these possible now and in the future. Your support for initiatives like these ensures immediate assistance for survivors while addressing a crucial service gap, guaranteeing lasting impact for individuals.

By contributing a $50.00 gift here and now, you will help us get that much closer to launching these programs. While every contribution, no matter the size, makes a significant difference, we know a donation today of $50.00 covers the costs of a survivor not only participating in a culturally affirming support group session but also receiving a one-on-one safety planning session with a highly-trained and compassionate advocate.

We believe that everyone deserves a space where they feel seen, heard, and celebrated. With your help, we can create these spaces and offer culturally affirming programs that address the unique challenges faced by Black women and LGBTQ+ survivors in Indiana. Your support is greatly appreciated, and we are grateful for your unwavering commitment to our work.
